Welcome to Material Science and Mechanical Engineering Graduate Student Association

The Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering Graduate Student Association (MSME GSA) is a student-led organization dedicated to     fostering a strong academic, professional, and social community among graduate students within the fields of Materials Science and     Mechanical Engineering. Our mission is to support the personal and professional development of our members through a variety of           initiatives,   including research symposia, career development workshops, networking events, and social gatherings.
MSME GSA serves as a platform for graduate students to connect with peers, faculty, alumni, and industry professionals, while also acting as   a collective voice to advocate for student interests within the department and the broader university community. By promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, leadership opportunities, and community engagement, MSME GSA strives to enrich the graduate experience and empower students to succeed in their academic and professional pursuits.

Research. Present. Win! First Annual Research Symposium.

The First Annual Research Symposium is happening on May 12, and it is shaping up to be one of the most exciting graduate student events of the year.

Organized by MSME GSA, this symposium gives graduate students in Mechanical and Materials Science a platform to share their research, hear from experts, compete in poster and 3MT presentations, and connect with the broader graduate community.

Why should you join? Because this event has it all:
research visibility, expert talks, presentation experience, free poster printing, and cash awards.

Whether you are presenting your latest findings or coming to support your peers, the symposium is a great chance to be part of an event that highlights the innovation, effort, and talent within the department. It is not just about presenting data. It is about sharing ideas, building confidence, and creating a stronger research community.

The registration  deadline is April 7. Mark your calendar for May 12 and do not miss the chance to present, participate, and compete for awards.
